Documentary - I Need That Record

Documentary

I Need That Record

Guerilla filmmaker Brendan Toller unleashes I Need That Record! The Death (Or Possible Survival) Of The Independent Record Store, “an elegy for a vanishing subculture…a lively, bittersweet film that examines - with caustic humor, brutal candor, and, ultimately, great affection - why roughly 3,000 indie record stores have closed across the nation over the past decade,” (Johnathan Perry, Boston Globe).

A tour-de-force tale of greed, media consolidation, homogenized radio, big box stores, downloading, and technological shifts in the music industry told through candid interviews, crestfallen record store owners, startling statistics, and eye-popping animation.

Featuring- Ian MacKaye, Noam Chomsky, Mike Watt, Thurston Moore, Lenny Kaye, Chris Frantz), Glen Branca, Patterson Hood, Pat Carney, Legs McNeil, Bob Gruen, BP Helium and many indie record stores across the U.S.

Refused - The Shape Of Punk To Come

Refused

The Shape Of Punk To Come

Arguably the most influential hardcore album of all time, The Shape of Punk to Come was Refused’s masterpiece, their last recording, and the record that launched a generation of bands by pointing the way to a hardcore sound that was dense, sophisticated, and brimming with smarts. “The pure intellect that was pouring out of this band - musical intellect, political intellect…even when it comes to arrangement, they were very sophisticated. It still sounds fresh, it still sounds contemporary and new” said uberfan Kirk Hammett of Metallica. Now fans can explore The Shape of Punk To Come in whole new light, with an added CD with over 50 minutes of unreleased live performances, and a DVD documenting their first US tour and ensuing demise. LP includes download card for full album & bonus tracks.

Clutch - Live at the 9:30

Clutch

Live at the 9:30

This amazing two DVD set begins with their most prolific performance ever caught on film, as the band returns home to Washington DC’s legendary 9:30 Club.

After four raucous songs from Strange Cousins From the West, the band whips the sold out crowd into a musical frenzy with sizzling versions of all 13 songs from their classic 1995 self titled release.

The 2nd DVD, Fortune Tellers Make a Killing Nowadays, is their new docu-film captured on-the-road-style by director/producer Agent Ogden.

Touring veterans Neil, Dan, Tim, and Jean Paul discuss the current state of Clutch, and look back at some amazing musical moments.

Featuring rare jams and footage, this bonus disc turns back the clock to Clutch’s 2nd show ever (Oct. 1991) and to the old 9:30 Club for a vintage 1992 performance.
