John Zorn - In Search Of the Miraculous

John Zorn

In Search Of the Miraculous

Inspired by esoteric spiritual practices, white magic, ritual, traditional myths and ancient legends, Zorn brings together a life long interest in mysticism with powerful lyricism to fashion this dynamic and evocative series of Odes for the New Millennium.

Featuring the landmark extended composition The Magus, one of Zorn’s most exciting new works, the music takes on a scintillating new edge—dramatic, hypnotic and mysterious.

Performed by the remarkable Alhambra Trio enhanced by special guests Kenny Wollesen on vibraphone, Carol Emanuel on harp and Shanir Blumenkranz on Fender bass, In Search of the Miraculous is a deeply moving listening experience—ecstatic music for young and old that touches on the sublime!

Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra - Kollaps Tradixionales

Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra

Kollaps Tradixionales

With Godspeed You! Black Emperor seemingly no more, or at least missing presumed lost, Silver Mt Zion are now the main outlet for former GYBE main man Efrim Menuck.

Kollaps Tradixionales is the band’s sixth album, and the first under this variation of their name. It’s also the first recorded outing of this particular line up, with the band having had something of a re-staffing over the last year or two.

Nitzer Ebb - Compilation

Nitzer Ebb

Compilation

Import three CD collection from the Electronic/Industrial duo featuring a CD of 19 of their finest tracks plus two discs containing remixes.

Nitzer Ebb cut a dynamic swathe through the Industrial music and Balaeric beat scenes of the 1980s and ‘90s.

They were Electro-Punks before the genre even existed, at a time when The Prodigy were not even a gleam in fellow Essex boy Liam Howlett’s eye.

Militaristic, intimidating yet always accessible, Nitzer Ebb enjoyed a string of ferocious club hits and released five critically acclaimed albums on Mute.

From their first-ever single, 1984’s ‘Isn’t It Funny How Your Body Works’ through to their final 1995 single ‘I Thought’, they were a band whose honed aggression, originality and precision were impeccable.

43 tracks.

Kraftwerk - Ralf & Florian

Kraftwerk

Ralf & Florian

The third album from the early two-man version of Kraftwerk—and easily their most futuristic effort to date !

There’s a cleaner electric sound here than before—and one that’s a lot more tuneful too, really setting the scene for Autobahn and other big 70s classics to come.

Yet there’s also still more of the experimental, progressive qualities in the work too—sounds that still really stretch out, even as more song-structured music starts to fall into place.

Plenty of great keyboards over spare rhythms—and a set of tracks that includes “Elektrisches Roulette”, “Tongebirge”, “Tanzmusik”, “Anans Symphonie”, and “Kristallo”
